About
Sierra McClain grew up in a home filled with music. She often sang around the house, and as Sierra began to sit in on her parents song writing sessions, her fascination with music production grew. Her passion for singing, songwriting, and playing piano and guitar exploded as she got more involved in her parent’s studio sessions. Eventually, Sierra and her younger sisters, Lauryn and China Anne formed a singing group at ages 10, 7 and 6 which, as they grew up took on the name ‘McClain Sisters’, then ultimately an abbreviated ‘McCLAIN’. To develop the group in its early stages, they sang backgrounds for their father’s recording clients. Their first professional song was for the recording artist, rapper David Banner. While visiting her sister China Anne on the set of Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, Sierra met well known casting director, Reuben Cannon. Cannon asked the girls to perform, so they moved a table and chairs to the side and did just that. Reuben was so impressed that he shared the news of the talented trio of sisters with Tyler Perry, who was already working with China. Perry then cast all three sisters in his third movie, Daddy’s Little Girls.
Over the years, Sierra has performed with her sisters in their group, ‘McCLAIN’ for Disney soundtracks & nationwide fairs. They also headlined at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA. Now, in 2016, Sierra has landed the coveted role of Nessa, on network television’s #1 show, Fox’s EMPIRE. Nessa is a dynamic, multitalented character arriving to season three as a hot, new R&B artist. The stage is being set for Sierra Aylina McClain to take on the world of entertainment from all angles. She IS that entertainer to watch and is committed to exceeding her own expectations. STAY TUNED.
